The Best of BDNY Product Design Competition recognizes manufacturers of products that demonstrate functionality, aesthetic progress, and innovation in their respective categories.

Winners are selected by a jury of design professionals. Judges reserve the right to not offer an award in any given category and to reclassify entries into other product categories as necessary or appropriate.
CRITERIA
• Product statement of no more than 250 words must accompany your submission.
• All entrants give permission to Boutique Design and BDNY to publish photos and descriptions in print and online.
• Products must have been introduced to the marketplace no EARLIER than December 1, 2025.
• All submission imagery must meet resolution requirements (300 dpi jpg in 5” x 7” format or similar) or submission is ineligible.
• All submissions must be sent in electronic format. No hard copy submissions are accepted.
• Products MUST be available on the marketplace for purchase or spec.
PRICING
The cost to enter is $800 for first entry, $150 for subsequent entries. Entrants may submit more than one product for review; however, each product can only be submitted once per category. Total number of different product submissions are unlimited, across categories or in the same category.
Submission fee includes: Guaranteed placement of one product (including image and description copy) per company in Boutique Design’s Winter 2026 issue in digital format, which includes bonus digital distribution to past BDNY attendees and registered attendees of BDNY 2026, in a special Product Showcase. Competition winners and finalists, selected by the judges, will be prominently featured in Boutique Design’s Winter edition in The Source products section, online on hospitalitydesign.com, and promoted via e-blast to the Boutique Design magazine subscriber list.
Upgrade for more exposure: Enhance your entry by including your product on our double-sided digital kiosk. By selecting this option, your product will be displayed on the main aisle of the BDNY trade fair floor, adding high visibility for your brand while catching the eye of attendees and judges onsite. Upgrade Cost: $800 (a $1,600 value). Images can be static or in MP4 format. *Rotates with other competition entrants and trade fair information
CATEGORIES
Architectural Materials
Architectural hardware, panels and cladding systems, ceiling panels, doors, partitions, millwork, poured and precast concrete, and green architectural materials.
Art & Accessories
Custom art, wall art, digital art, sculpture, decorative mirrors and decorative accessories.
Bath/Spa
Bathtubs, showers and enclosures, shower surfacing, sinks, faucets and fixtures, bath mirrors, bath casegoods, spa lighting and accessories.
Beds & Bedding
Bed frames, headboards, mattresses, box springs, sofa beds, rollaways, linens, duvets, pillows and decorative bed accessories for hospitality use.
Fabric
Upholstery, wovens, non-wovens, leather, vinyl, and performance fabrics, including exterior-rated goods. If it's a textile, it belongs here.
Flooring
Carpet, carpet tile, area rugs, luxury vinyl tile and plank, resilient and rubber flooring, wood flooring, tile and stone flooring, terrazzo and decorative concrete floors, and green floorcoverings.
Furniture
Casegoods, tables, desks, occasional and accent pieces, and storage for guest rooms and public spaces. Not seating, not beds.
Lighting
Chandeliers, pendants, sconces, recessed and overhead lighting, floor and table lamps, lighted mirrors, lighting controls, energy-efficient lighting and ceiling fans.
Made in America
Open to every product type. This category recognizes products manufactured in the United States. If domestic production is a defining part of your product’s story, enter it here.
Outdoor
Furniture, seating, lighting, ceiling fans, fireplaces, heaters, surfacing materials, umbrellas, cabanas, cushions and accessories for exterior spaces.
Seating
Guest room and lounge seating, dining and banquet seating, bar and counter seating, upholstered and non-upholstered, benches, ottomans and task seating.
Surfaces
Hard-surface finishes for countertops, walls and ceilings: natural and engineered stone, quartz, solid surface, wall and feature tile, mosaics, sintered and large-format panels, backsplashes, terrazzo, decorative laminate, veneer, metal and glass surfacing.
Sustainable
Products whose primary story is environmental performance: recycled or bio-based content, low embodied carbon, circularity, third-party certification, or verified reductions in energy, water and waste. Open to all product types.
Wallcovering
Wallpaper, vinyl, fabric and laminate wallcoverings, murals, paint, specialty coatings, and acoustic and decorative wall panels.
Window Treatments
Draperies, shades, blinds, shutters, sheers, blackout systems, motorization and hardware.
